RADIANCE project started in 2004, by an idea of Federica Viola, guitarist of the band. After some change of line up, in april 2005 the band started live performances, with the following members: Marcella Giuffrè (vocals) , Federica Viola (guitars), Margherita Gennaro (guitars), Giorgia Matesi (bass guitars), Viola Avvento (drums). Radiance performed some 80's hard rock & heavy metal covers such as Loudness, Ronnie James Dio, Dokken, Crimson Glory, Lizzy Borden, meeting unexpected success, also due to the unusual commixture of metal and women.
Later Radiance decided to work on inedited music, influenced by great heavy metal bands (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest... ).
In March 2006 the band took part in a local rock contest of inedited music, called Udu, "Music from Cellar", gained an unexpected second place.
In 2006 Radiance performed on stage with Thy Majestie.
During this year the singer of the band Marcella Giuffrè left the band, because of musical disagreement with the rest of the band.
In June Radiance found their missing star, Karin Baldanza (previously singer of Aghar and Amorgen).
In august Radiance took part at “Rockeggiando Fest”.
Later, on the same month, Radiance shared the stage with their friends Urto, in Partanna square (TP).
Meanwhile the bassist of the band Giorgia Matesi split up from the band. After an unceasing period of live activity, Viola Avvento in spring 2007 left the band for musical incompatibility. In 2007 after a critic period Radiance decided to give up the all-female project, recruiting male musicians, such as Fabio Accardo (bass guitars) and Riccardo Barbiera (drummer). During this period the band took part in “The Battle Of The Band”, a musical challenge between the best sicilian bands, where it gained another second place! After this experience the band started to work to new songs, created by the mix of experience and influence of the former members. In the summer 2007 Vincenzo Viola, started to play his drum with Radiance. The resulting distinctive Radiance sound is made up of heavy, obscure, screaming guitars with evocative (sometimes gothic) vocals . During the winter, Radiance performed in their city.
In June 2008 Vincenzo Viola left the band.
On 1st August 2008 , comes to life the first promo of Radiance" ...AND THE NIGHT COMES DOWN" that includes 6 inedited songs.
Recorded during winter 2007/2008 at Radiance Studios, mixed by Alex Argento. Due to serious personal divergences, Margherita is out from Radiance in september 2008. Now the band is working on new songs, and will soon return on stage.
